A medium fawn female with vicuna markings and imported in 1998 from the Belen farm in Peru, 6Peruvian Paulettha was an excellent and protective mom, and gave gave to us large boned, conformationally correct girls with fine fleece and high IgGs, including our own Quelle Surprise, multiple blue ribbon winner Morning Sky's Grande Alera, Morning Sky's Grande Dencia, Morning Sky's Just Glorious, and Morning Sky's Grande Laramie.
It is said that some females are as important as the males in a breeding program, and in our book, Paulettha was one of those foundation females. She blessed us with five beautiful females in a row, gave birth to all of them easily, and mothered and guarded them closely. Paulettha was the alpha female of our herd and looked out for everyone, large or small, related or not. She taught us many challenging lessons about alpaca ownership in very short order, and made a lasting impression on everyone who visited our farm.
We bought 1/2 interest in her perfect match, Grand Alero, to breed her to him again for a fifth time, but it was not to be. We will treasure her lovely offspring, and never forget the positive mark that she left on our breeding program. She will be sorely missed...

Quelle Surprise, (pronounced "kel sue-PREEZE"), our always curious first born, had an IgG over 3000. A strong girl with good bone, Surprise exhibits her dam's fine fleece, good staple length, and the conformation of both her dam and her well known sire, 5Peruvian Silverado 9042. She gives birth effortlessly to strong crias with very nice fleece, and is an attentive mom. Surprise has blue chips in her eyes, but, when bred correctly, has produced five crias with no evidence of blue being passed on.
Surprise's first cria was a beautiful 1/4 Accoyo, full Peruvian silver grey female - Morning Sky's Royale Ainee, out of full Peruvian/half Accoyo, Black Peruvian Royal Forest, son of Royal Fawn. In the ARI Registry, Royale Ainee one of only a few Black Forest offspring listed as grey. Surprise is also granddam to Ainee's daughter, 7 time Color Champion and Judges' Choice winner, Morning Sky's Paulina. Her subsequent offspring by Royal Forest were Tres Magnifique, medium fawn, Royale Boucle, beige, and Renard, black.
