2x 1st - Breeder's Best Three 2011 |
In northwestern PA, only 2 miles west of I-79, Exit 130, near Goddard State Park; stop in for a farm visit!
2011 was our best show year yet, with Morning Sky's Paulina winning four 1st place ribbons and 3 Color Champion banners - all before the age of 9 months! Morning Sky's Siriusly Stellarr and Morning Sky's Design rounded out the Breeder's Best Three production class for two 1st place ribbons, a 2nd, and a 3rd at four shows. Design has received two 1st place ribbons and a 2nd place, while Stellarr & Fawna received multiple ribbons.
Our FULL ACCOYO, white, herdsire, Accoyo Angelis, is now breeding and is maintaining a FINE, FLEECE of 18.7 microns on his third shearing (2011); he has received various blue ribbons and a RESERVE CHAMPIONSHIP from Judge Jude Anderson! We continually strive to have exceptional conformation and outstanding fleece in our herd, and "Angel" is out of notable and coveted bloodlines that we feel will have a very positive effect on our herd - and yours! Also, keep an eye on our up and coming junior herdsire, Morning Sky's Design - a light fawn Accoyo Craftsman son/Accoyo Goldsmith grandson. Desi has fine fleece, uniformity, and coverage, and has taken blue ribbons in almost every show in which he has competed, including the fall 2011 Empire Extravaganza, judged by Jude Anderson in a competitive class of 11!
Our alpacas are mostly Peruvian - in both white and color - infused with Accoyo bloodlines. Our focus is on a carefully crafted breeding program where every generation improves upon the last. Our herd includes descendants of such notable greats as Caligula, Hemingway, Royal Fawn, Vengador, Legacy, and Silverado, to name just a few.
With the expansion of our pastures, boarding opportunities are also available. As hands on owners, visiting alpacas are given our personal attention and care, just as if they were our own. We are also on call for customer support, since the health of our alpacas (and of those who are purchased from us) are of the ultimate importance to us - just one of the benefits of dealing with a small farm who is dedicated to the progress of this industry!
Whether you are considering alpaca ownership, or are a knitter or weaver in search of beautiful alpaca yarn, contact us to visit Morning Sky Farm! While we are not open to the public year round, we do usually host one or two farm events each year. Contact us to put your name on our mailing list to be notified of our events and products.
